Rain fell on the earth, forty days and forty nights
\nA man called Noah found grace in God, and lived
\nIn time the waters withdrew and a rainbow came
\nNoah saw that it was from God, a promise of hope
\nBelieving the words, “while the earth remains
\nOf seedtime and harvest and of cold and heat, of
\nWinter and summer and of day and night
\nShall not cease.” A promise of tinted light<\/p>\n
Another day a prophet came called John
\nNeither did he eat or drink to excess
\nDelivering a promise of one called Jesus<\/p>\n
Rabbi, how can we follow You to peace
\nI ask you to love one another, as I love you
\nBelieve in the One that sent Me to be free
\nBe partakes of the body and the spirit
\nOne can only truly be, by being in Me
\nNot to ones self, but to others you must be
\nShining forth, a promise written in loving light<\/p>\n
Round about us are others searching
\nAnd suffering the ills of this world
\nIn each of us are gifts of the Holy Spirit
\nNot that we should be lords over each other
\nBut that we can be whole in the body of Christ
\nOne of us is not the whole of the Church
\nWe are each a part being served by the body
\nSinging, praying, crying, loving, and laughing<\/p>\n
And we reach out to each other’s needs
\nNot with answers made of law, but with love
\nDoing little things to let the rainbow shine<\/p>\n
