{"id":348,"date":"2015-10-23T16:39:06","date_gmt":"2015-10-23T16:39:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tcoulter.org\/wp\/?page_id=348"},"modified":"2015-10-23T16:39:06","modified_gmt":"2015-10-23T16:39:06","slug":"forbear","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tcoulter.org\/wp\/earths-son\/forbear\/","title":{"rendered":"Forbear"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They came into the land<br \/>\nThey came across the water<br \/>\nOr so we were told<br \/>\nThey came from thin air<br \/>\nThey stood by the river and streams<br \/>\nAnd pour did they their waste<br \/>\nFrom their bowels and pails<br \/>\nInto the waters that the day sun<br \/>\nUses to replenish the sky<br \/>\nFrom which the great bear<br \/>\nAnd the smallest of our kin drink<br \/>\nThey put a bounty on our elders<br \/>\nThey paid a bounty for the hair<br \/>\nAnd the ears of our mother\u2019s sons<br \/>\nThe bravest of the heroes from their<br \/>\nWar of the two houses divided<br \/>\nOver the ownership of woman and man<br \/>\nGalloped into the camp of the elders<br \/>\nAnd those that watched over our lives<br \/>\nAnd took life from our women and children<br \/>\nIn the name of God they did these<br \/>\nBut not by God\u2019s hand were these done<br \/>\nBy the hand of greed and the hand of lies<br \/>\nThere is but one God and all are that One<br \/>\nThe one whose hand dropped down<br \/>\nAnd the one whose life ran away<br \/>\nThe one that was no more, now gray smoke<br \/>\nAnd the one that now cries when he prays<br \/>\nThe living must forgive and remember<br \/>\nThe dead must move on into our dreams<br \/>\nBut the earth, the mother of the slain<br \/>\nAnd the mother of the living, remembers<br \/>\nShe is a women denied a child by a child<br \/>\nShe is torn between love and pain<br \/>\nAs she morns one and hopes for another<br \/>\nHer tears are polluted with the waste<br \/>\nFrom the bowels and from the pails<br \/>\nCry for her and cry for the child that remains<br \/>\nPray for her and pray for the child that remains<\/p>\n<p>\u00a9 1997 Tim D.
