The same God that gives rain to the sky
Has put the tears in my eyes
The same God that gave the sun to the day
Gives the moon for the night
The same God gave His life for me

I cannot love the Lord my God
Without the love He has given to me
My love is like the night’s moon
Only a reflection of the greater light
Returning what has been given

The same God that gave strength to my youth
Has put the signs of age on my face
The same God that has created the morning
Goes before me in the darkness of night
And is my rear guard forever

The same God that hovered over the waters
Fills my heart and brightens my soul
The same God that was poured out on the earth
Anoints the head with the oils of ministry
And gives servants to the body of Christ

I cannot love the Lord my God
Without the anointing of His blood
My love is like the Lord’s oil
The flowing of the best He has to give
Giving me the life that I live
