Concerning the calling . . .

Concerning the calling God has made on my life, I have known from an early age that God was working with me, but I did not know what the calling was to. Recently God, through the Spirit, told me that the time was nearing for my ministry to live. Through prayer, study, and conversations with the Spirit, I asked to whom should I minister and from where is my training. I did not ask about anointing, because I was told years ago not to receive an anointing of men nor to bind myself to any governing church body. I was also told, at an early age, to go where I go and anywhere I walked answer the questions asked me concerning my faith and as the Spirit moved me concerning the Christ.

As I prayed for understanding of the ministry drawing near, the Spirit moved me to Ezekeil 2:1-3 and 3:4-5:

2:1 And he said unto me, Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you.
2:2 Then the Spirit entered me when he spoke to me, and set me on my feet, and I heard him who spoke to me.
2:3 And he said unto me, Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.
3:4 Then He said to me, Son of man, go to the house of Israel, and speak my words to them.
3:5 For you are not sent to a people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, but to the house of Israel;

Then the Spirit moved me to Hebrews 4:14 and 5:4:

4:14 Seeing that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
5:4 And no man takes this honor to himself, but he who is called by God, just as Aaron was called.

Next my Bible turned, as if turning itself, to Ephesians and I read chapter 4 verse 8 and 11-13:

4:8 Therefore He says: While He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.
4:11 And He Himself gave some to be Apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
4:13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

And that the glory should, rightfully, be given to my Lord Jesus of Christ, I was led to I Corinthians 1:26-31:

1:26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.
1:27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;
1:28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing to the things that are,
1:29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.
1:30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God – and righteousness and sanctification and redemption –
1:31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

Then, much to my surprise, I was led to Jeremiah 1:4-5:

1:4 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Praise to God, for it can not be mine. Have I – any knowledge, that is not His – any understanding, that is not given and taken at His will – any message, that is not His Spirit and will flowing through me – any strength to stand nor to fall, to talk nor to be quiet, to do works nor to rest, that is not His in me. Pray with me that I will not take pride onto myself and forget that it is God that works in me and it is by the life, death and life of Jesus Christ that I am able to have God within. I am because I am part of the greater I AM, the Christ.

Amen
