Forgive Me

The first waking moment,
The first thing I recall,
Was the face that blew the breath,
That filled my lungs with life,
The Lord my Savior, my all-in-all.

The Lord my Creator,
We walked in the garden,
He told me of seven days,
And about the One Way,
The truth and the life for evermore.

He sang the psalms to me,
As quiet waters flowed,
The wind played the melody,
Still I was not content,
With the gifts He gave, I wanted more.

When I regained my thoughts,
I was so far away,
From my home, my King of kings.
Everything was wasted,
I ran back to where we had been friends.

My eyes scarcely took in,
The sight I was seeing,
God’s Son nailed to a tree
Father please forgive me,
I do not know what I am doing.
