The High Priest’s Staff

If I had not once been one,
I would not understand the people
Who do not want to be unloved.
A people so misunderstood,
Who desire a family more than a steeple.

The traditions of human’s drown them,
In a sea of useless acts and words.
The proud hear the overwhelming traditions,
Instead of the Spirit of the Word they read.
They worship at the altar of self-ambition.

Hate must end and love must prevail!
The children of God will arise and be revealed.
The world needs the hands laid on that heal.
The world needs to hear the Word that saves.
The dry bones need to live a servant’s life.

The Lord’s secret is in those who are in Awe,
Bowing to the I Am singing Holy, Holy, Holy
Their eyes see the Lord who wore the thorns,
In the throne room of grace crowned with glory.
With the High Priest’s staff held out to us all.
