There is pain in the heart
Of people I love
There are tears in the eyes
Of people I love
There is loss in the souls
Of people I love
This is a prayer to our Lord
For the people I love
Lord don’t just give them comfort
Become their comfort
Lord don’t just dry their tears
Wipe them away
Lord don’t just give them strength
Become their strength
Lord don’t just show them mercy
Be mercy for them
Lord don’t just show them grace
Be grace for them
Lord don’t just heal their hearts
Be the heart in them
Wouldn’t you know that God
Would have already
Done theses things for them
And for all of us
Thank you God for Jesus Christ
Help us realize
What it is that dwells within us
Calling us home
Leading us back to where we began
In God’s loving arms
