There is a hunger that fills my heart
And an emptiness that overflows from my soul
As I look out on a sea of lost and wounded
I remember the words, “Go you therefore”
We are so busy walking on the water
That we don’t see the needs we are walking on

Father, You sent Your Son to set us free
We are so free, and we are so free indeed
That our deeds outweigh the freedom You won
Our serving becomes chains on our hands
And the churches are the chains on our feet
And we don’t see the needs we are walking on

Jesus, You came for us and broke us out
You were anointed to break chains and be light
Do You see us still stumbling in the darkness
Do You see us still searching for the keys
Without turning to the Light of the world
So, we don’t see the needs we are walking on

Spirit, You came to give us love and comfort
You brought to us gifts to bind us together
But we deny the power in the congregation
And do not let You speak the word
Given to You by the Father and the Son
And we don’t see the needs we are walking on
