Love doesn’t just happen
Alone, all by itself
You won’t find it living
And giving out on it’s own
It comes from and flows through
Love is always given
And cannot be taken
It does not remain, but is constant
Love is the spirit in an act of kindness
And the warmth in a smile
It is a light to the soul
It is the reason a stranger stops
To help another along the way
You cannot hold it
In your hand or heart
Or save it for another day
It is the spirit that flows
Through humanity for an eternity
It is the good that battles
It is the freedom to care
It is the Spirit of God
Love doesn’t just happen
Alone all by itself
It flows from another
It is released by forgiveness
It is passed through kindness
It is everlasting but always moving
From one heart to another
From one soul to another
Love is God’s greatest gift
On that we can depend
The giving flowing water
That brings us all together
Love does not just happen
