Over the past eight weeks, God has been showing me God. The first week, God showed me the life giving Awe of God. Next, God surrounded me with peace in the manifested presence of God. The third week, God showed me the omnipresence of God. Even when my focus drifts to the distractions, there is God. Shalom! The forth week, God told me that the gospel has not changed. Salvation is still salvation, reconciliation is still reconciliation, and the desire of the Lord’s heart is still that none should perish. From then until now, God continues to say, “The commission is still to declare the gospel and to teach the kingdom of God to all the earth.”
Before creation, when humans where still an idea, God was faithful to the idea of creation. God was faithful in the planning of creation. God has been faithful in the creation. God’s eyes never wandered from us, creating everything to support us. When we hid to hide our shame, God came looking for us. In the middle of the creation week, God sent Himself to atone for us. That is God was in Christ reconciling us to Himself. The Light called on day one became the Lamb slain from the beginning and the Word made flesh to die the sacrificial death at the appointed time. Why would God not remain faithful to this very hour into eternity?
