If tomorrow it could be
Different than it is today
My heart’s desire would be
That my sins would have never
Touched the lives of my family
The sins of my father
Would have ended with him
And I would be my Father’s son
If pieces could be removed
From the puzzle of my life
I would remove all the ones
That caused you pain and tears
The border carefully secured
With love’s trust and faith
Jesus filling the empty places
The picture would be perfect
That is what the Lord God
Is promising the believer this day
Not a perfect life in this domain
But a redeemer to fill in the spaces
That our sins have left blank
Receive from me my confession
And from the Lord grant forgiveness
Then tomorrow will not be today
