The promise of forever
Doesn’t stop the pain of today
In this world you will have
Tears flowing from yesterday
But be of a cheerful heart
It rains on us all
Just the same
Even Jesus cried
While compassion reigned
We haven’t reached the day
Of no more tears
We are still waiting
For love to replace fears
And the just to remember grace
