Will this Flower

Once again there is sadness
In the hearts of the people I love
Once again life has been taken
Cutoff in the middle of a breath
It was not time that took a toll
Nor was it time for a toll to be taken
It was not the hand of God
But one asks, “Where was God’s hand?”
Where are you God, Lord of lords
When a flower no longer grows
And their need for life, not fades
But is ripped from the earth by force
Can it rain again on such a field
What need is there of seeds not grown
Until the sun has bleached the pedals
Where is the plowman and the planter
The same place He was on the day
His Son was carried away and abused
But on the third day His Son rose
Will this flower be whole in three days
Not knowing, is it faith I must maintain
Faith said, “I unknowingly hope.”
Where is my unknown hope this day
For I see it not in the faces nor
In the hearts of the people I love
What peace is there beneath the steeple
What peace is there passing understanding
Is the hand of God now for those weeping
Will He now wipe away our tears
Can we now trade love and power for our fear
In this hour our fear is entombed before us
How can the heart of a parent be patient
As they hope for a resurrection already past
Will this flower be whole in three days
Lord answer us quickly in our day of sorrow
