My Heroes

There was a time I was a hero
Or thought that I wanted to be
I had no super human power
I had no bullet proof cape
And I could fix everything but me

Sometimes a hero needs a hero
Sometime a brave man needs saved
Sometimes it’s okay to be weak
Sometimes it’s okay to be wrong
It’s okay, let someone else be strong

Perfection, when being always right
Is protection of a lie
Sometimes it’s knowing you are wrong
Facing up and moving along
Not what you’ve been but what you’ve become

Now my heroes are people who pray
People who look to the Lord for help
People who say, I was mistaken
People who say, I still love you
People who know we’re forgiven

People please know we are forgiven
In all my life these words mean more
To me now than anytime before
If you know the truth, the truth will
And can fix everything, even me
