Sit up in my bed at night
And wonder why the Lord
Is taking so long answering me
Then I see you sleeping there
Remembering how much you care
And I thank the Lord
For helping me find you
I remember the past
The things I put you through
The long lonely nights
The absents and the fights
Couldn’t find my way home
Then I heard your voice and saw
The forgiveness in your eyes
Lord I want to thank You
For the women at my side
It took Your love to keep her there
It will take more to show I care
Enough to be her loving man
With Your strength living in me
And her lying here, I can
There is something in the way
We pass the time together
Praising you with our hearts
And the way we kneel to pray
That tells me we will be okay
As long as we remember
What God has joined together . . .
