The Confession

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe with your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have sinned not, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us. Confess your sins one to another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides within him, and he in God.

The scribes and Pharisees brought to Jesus a women caught in the act of adultery. They said to Him, “teacher, this woman was caught in the adultery, in the very act. Moses, in the law, commands us that such should be stoned, what do you say?” Jesus wrote on the ground with His finger, then raised up and said, “He who is without sin among you throw the first stone,” then continued to write. Everyone walked away, leaving the woman. When Jesus asked, “Has no one condemned you?”

The woman replied, “No one Lord.”

Jesus did not condemn her. The scribes and Pharisees came to Jesus to confess the sin of another and walked away because of their own sins, being convicted by their own conscience. The woman confessed Jesus as Lord and walk away without condemnation, without sin. Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, confess our sins (not the sins of others) and He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.

A paralytic (one stricken with palsy) was brought to Jesus and when Jesus saw their faith He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” When some about them accused Jesus of blasphemy, He said, “But that you know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins.” He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” When the multitudes saw they worshipped God. Through faith one is healed to the glory of God. Jesus has the authority to forgive sins and if we are faithful and confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive our sins. With the mouth confession is made unto salvation. With our mouth we confess our sins (not the sins of others) and Jesus is faithful to forgive us our sins. With our mouth we confess Jesus is Lord and our need (our sins) for Him and He is faithful to forgive us.

The power of the heart is to believe unto righteous. The power of the mouth is to confess unto salvation. Believe in the Lord Jesus as the Son of God. Believe that Jesus has the authority to forgive sins. Believe the God raised Jesus from the death. Confess that Jesus is Lord. Confess that I have sinned and need Jesus. Confess that God raised Jesus from the dead. Believe, pray and witness that Jesus came, lived and died for the remission of sin. If you have the need, go to another to pray with you. Ask another to pray for you. Pray for one another. Believe to be. Confess your belief to be healed.
