Late December

I know it’s late December
They say it is Christmas
Some say it’s Christ’s birthday
They can’t prove that to me
But still, I know it is Christmas
See the shoppers and keepers
All singing season’s cheer
They’ll sell you something new
And wrap it with care
And wish you with a prayer
We all wish would come true
They say that it is Christmas
And I guess that much is true
Wishing everyone happiness
Through the New Year
Don’t know if it’s Christ’s birthday
They can’t prove it to me
But I hope you can see
That I for you pray
Goodwill towards all and
Peace on earth anyway
Wish Jesus happy birthday
Whenever that day may be
And God’s will to all
And peace on earth, today
