For Posterity

Once a child myself
With children of my own
Now grandchildren are grown
With talk of leaving home
Time is not passing by
Life is springing forth
Generations making room
For what is about to bloom

We did so much more
Than the generation before
But it seems fleeting
Compared to the dreams
Of peace on earth
Life, love, and liberty
To leave a better world
For our Posterity
