First Day

5/28/2010

I will wash my hands in innocence;
So I will go about Your altar, O LORD,
That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving,
And tell of all Your wondrous works.
LORD, I have loved the habitation of Your house,
And the place where Your glory dwells.

Do not gather my soul with sinners,
Nor my life with bloodthirsty men,
In whose hands is a sinister scheme,
And whose right hand is full of bribes.

But as for me, I will walk in my integrity;
Redeem me and be merciful to me.
My foot stands in an even place;
In the congregations I will bless the LORD.
(Ps 26:6-12)

I wash my hands in the most innocent blood of our Lord Jesus Christ – a man without sin, and pure innocent blood emptied out so my soul would not be gathered up with sinners. Now I can go about His altar; and have need of no other altar. In this day and the days to come, I may proclaim His wondrous works with thanksgiving.

Yesterday, we travel across Ohio, a small part of West Virginia, and entered Pennsylvania before stopping for the evening. We were led to stop at the rest areas, anoint the ground with oil, and pray. Entering Pennsylvania, we stopped and the Lord blessed us.  As the van pulled off the highway,  we prayed to find someone to pray with. There at the rest area was a group of God’s children handing out cookies and coffee to travelers. We walked up to a couple and told them we were looking for people to pray with. They stood, took our hands, and the Lord filled the small circle with His love. The woman then introduced us to their Pastor; a Holy Spirit filled woman of God. Prayer broke out again.
