Some nights are just nights
Sleeping with dreams I don’t remember
Some nights are all night
Well into midnight and early morn
Holding the dream that never seems to end
But it’s alright, it’s just alright, it’s alright
Some nights are sleepless
Thinking the thoughts I cannot forget
Some nights I regret
Everything I have said and done
Everything I’m thinking is trespassing
But I’ll get by, I’ll just get by, I’ll get by
Some days are just days
Following a just night that’s alright
Some days are all day
Following a sleepless all night
Sorrow interrupting tomorrow
But I’m still here, I’m just still here, I’m still here
As long as there is another day
I’ll take a chance that it’s a brighter way
Leading me away from the darkness
A morning when His mercy is new
A day when I can be new too
And not another leftover from yesterday
