A thought, a whisper, a cry in the night
My empty heart reaching out for anything
A word, a prayer, a plea in the dark
My blind eyes searching for a glimpse of light
It is written, “If you seek, you will find”
Maybe I am looking in the wrong direction
Is there anybody out there with an answer
Can anyone show me where, what, or how
I’m not looking to know, I am looking to live
I’m not shopping to buy someone else’s life plan
I’m looking for someone willing to give me time
To show me a reason and a better way to live
Lord, turn my life around
Put me on solid ground
Build Your house up in me
Answering the plea
Of the lost and lonely
Child of the Almighty
A thought, a whisper, a cry in the night
Woke me from my slumbering vision
A word, a prayer, a plea in the dark
What am I doing in my life to answer the call
Of the seeking, lost, and scattered children of God
Maybe I am looking in the wrong direction
Father, I am not afraid of the dark
As long as You hold my hand
I can face anything, with You by my side
Lord, turn my life around
Put me on solid ground
Build Your house up in me
Answering the plea
Of the lost and lonely
Child of the Almighty
