There is within the House of God those that have the gift to heal. The power to heal belongs to God and is given by the Holy Spirit as a gift to some. Healing is within the asking of any of God’s children, in that they can call on the name of Jesus in prayer and be heard. The gift of healing is the gift to lay hands on those sick, deformed, broken and/or wounded and give healing. When a believer prays for a healing for another, God gives the healing directly. When one that has the gift of healing lays hands on another in need of healing, the gift given is passed on through the one with the gift. In either case God heals. In Acts when Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” He understood that healing was a gift and one that he could pass on to the lame man in the form of being healed.
These signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and the sick will recover (Mark 16:16-18). When the church is sent out to minister Jesus to the world, healing is one of the signs (something that attracts people to or advertises a person, place or service) that follow those that believer. Has a believer been here? Are there those that were sick that are now healed? Then, yes a believer has been here.
Lord, my God, how long will I say that I am a believer and repeat the words of the Spirit to say that I am called to minister Jesus and not show the signs that my Lord said would follow? The identity of Your church – Your anointed – Your people – Your Son’s body is that they will love one another. A sign that follows their going into the world is healing. Lord, my God, there are many hurting and many who dull the pain with instant pleasure and destructive ways. Lord, send me and I will go – speak to me and I will obey – prepare me and I will carry Your sign. Not for my glory nor of my own power can I do these things, but because Your Son is wholly within me and Your Spirit is my guide and comfort. Lord, my God, do not let your child be a fool and say, “I am of God,” and not show the signs.
Lord, You have sent me to a fellowship to be strengthened but also to be a help to the fellowship. The very people that bless me have said that I have blessed them and I have done no more than be a child of God, searching – seeking – believing, as Your Son and Your Spirit work within. It is the glory of Jesus that they see, for I am nothing to look at and have nothing of myself to give. Myself, I was mess of pain and locked up love. In the fullness of Jesus Christ, in a fellowship of believers was my healing; the healing is from God delivered by the hands of a believing, praying fellowship. At the front of the fellowship is a pastor, that teaches love and the Holy Spirit, whose hands God used. Praise God.
When a paralytic was brought to Jesus, Jesus said, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you” (Matt. 9:2). As He died Jesus said, “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.” Forgiveness that heals is given to us from God. Jesus asked the Father to forgive. Jesus also said forgive them because they do not know what they do and did not say forgive them because they have the knowledge. In our ignorance of God, we are healed and forgiven. But do not remain ignorant of God. The Son of God came as a Son of man in the line of a king established by God. Jesus lived and died to fulfill the law and the prophets. Jesus rose from the dead, was seen alive and has been accepted by God as our death for our sins so that we may have life. Praise God.
