The Lord Has Sworn and Will Not Relent

The Lord has sworn and will not relent, You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek (Ps. 110:4 & Heb. 7:21). That is a promise made concerning our Lord Jesus Christ. The Psalm quoted starts in verse one with, “The Lord said to my Lord, ‘sit at My right hand.’” Our Lord has an unchangeable priesthood (Heb. 8:24) but not according to law, but according to the power of endless life (Heb. 7:16). The Lord our God is the cornerstone of the temple of which we, the believer are the stones. These stones are not made by works; “And if you make Me an alter of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stone; for if you use your tool on it, you have profaned it (Ex. 20:25). Neither was our Lord made perfect by works but is the Son that was perfect forever (Heb 7:28).

If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or I speak on My own. He who speaks for himself seeks his own glory; but he who seeks the glory of the One who sent him is true and no unrighteousness is in Him (John 7:18-19). Our Lord has said this, that if we seek His glory (it is the Lord that sends) no unrighteousness is in us. Jesus spoke of Himself and of any that seeks the glory of the One sending. In that Jesus tells us that He is true and righteous (He came in the glory of our Father that sent Him) but also the righteousness of those sent in His glory. Let us not attempt to follow the law that was changed of necessity (Heb. 7:12) but the surety of a better covenant (Heb. 7:22). A covenant that gives to us our righteousness as long as we seek the glory of the One sending.

The Lord said to My Lord, “Sit at My right hand.” My Lord has sent His Holy Spirit and of this I need no scripture quote, because that Holy Spirit is alive within me and speaks to me of the things concerning life. My Lord is at the Father’s right hand and has done nothing on His own. Our Father is aware that the Holy Spirit has been sent. The Holy Spirit was sent and sent for the glory of God, for our Lord does nothing for His own glory, but for the glory of the One that sent Him to us. The Holy Spirit sends out ministers ordained by God. Our Lord Jesus, who is true, now makes us perfect when we are in the glory of the One that sends us out. The Holy Spirit does nothing of Himself and the Son does nothing of Himself, so it is God (The Father, Son and Holy Spirit) that sends us. According to the will of God the Holy Spirit (that He sends to us through the Son that is our sacrifice forever unto salvation) makes us perfect.

The Lord said to My Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” (Ps. 110:1). It is not our works that shall overcome, but God that will defeat our enemies. The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies (Ps. 110:2). God is our strength and our fortress in the midst of our enemies. The duty and honor of teaching the new daily sacrifice offered up once for us all (Heb. 8:27). No longer are the priests born out of law, because we have one priest that lives forever (Heb. 7:24). And we that are sent go out by our own choice (Your people shall be volunteers (Ps. 110:3)) in answer to the calling of our Lord. Notwithstanding that our Lord does act in our lives, as He did in the life of Jonah, to help us understand His will for our life. It is God that calls ministers to the ministry of music, helps, teaching, seeking the lost, shepherding a flock, prophetic messages and ministering to ministers. It is God that anoints and appoints. It is the power of God that protects. It is to the glory of God that we are righteous and not our own works in law that has been annulled (Heb. 7:18). Praise God for all things.

Our Lord has called and we need to answer. Your people shall be volunteers (Ps. 110:3). God will not force us to be made perfect, but He offers it to us and gives us everything we need to respond. God is love, in that He loved us first and sent His Son to be perfection for us and sends His Holy Spirit to glorify the Son that we might be righteous in the glory of the One sending. These are not things to be taken lightly, but they are things of faith. We need to believe that Jesus was always God, in the birth of God’s Son by a virgin women, His life on the earth, His death for our sake and His life at the Father’s right hand. If we cannot believe in those things, we cannot believe that we have a High Priest in heaven that dwells forever. If we cannot believe in those things we cannot accept the Holy Spirit He sends and we do not hear His voice. God has done it, believe it.
