Preach the Gospel

“Why do you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business” (Luke 2:49)? That statement was the proclamation of Jesus as to why He came to this earth. All that Jesus did was for the Father – our Father in heaven. Until and including His physical death Jesus was about Our Father’s business. “Father, if it is You will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not my will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42). Jesus’ life on this earth was lived for the Father by serving the children of God. Jesus ministered to us – Jesus healed our illnesses – Jesus forgave our sins – Jesus physically lived and died to pay our debt. “”Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law” (Romans 13:8). Isn’t it time we were about our Father’s business? “Go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:14-17). The statement quoted above from Mark sixteen tells us to preach the gospel, John three sixteen and seventeen expresses what the gospel is that we are to take to the world. The gospel is: that God loves us – that God the Father sent (gave) Jesus – that whoever believes in Jesus shall not perish, but have life eternal – that Jesus did not come to condemn – God (Father and Son) want us to be saved.

God did not leave us alone, after giving Jesus to us. “The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:26-27). We have the voice of God in the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that He is our teacher and our Father in heaven is our Father (see Matthew 23:8-12). Our Father sends to us the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name to teach us and to help us remember. We have: the gospel of Jesus Christ – the gospel of the kingdom of God – the belief that Jesus is our King – the Holy Spirit to teach us and remind us, what more do we need to go into the world and preach the gospel? Approval from a man, women or organization? No. We have a commission from the King.

Are we going to be lack and leave the ministering of God’s children to others? Are we going to be lack and say it is because no man or woman has told us to preach? Wasn’t Jesus in the form of a man when He told us to go into the world? If you are waiting for the approval of a man, you already have it and also the approval of our God (Father, Son, and Spirit).

Go you therefore into the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Be an example of what it means to have God in your life, Jesus in your heart and the Holy Spirit as your teacher. What are you waiting for – God has done all things required (Jesus came, died, and rose and the Holy Spirit has been poured out); it is now our time to step out and show and tell everyone what Jesus has done for the Father who sent Him to us. You do not need a steeple or pulpit to preach!
