Pleasures Evermore

The good men cease
And faithful are not seen
In the idle talk
of a double heart
May the Lord, not I,
cut off the flattering
and the proud tongue
who say, “Who is Lord for us?”

The Lord has said,
“I will raise for the needy,
and fill His heart
with overcoming.”
The words of God
are purity and truth
He shall keep them
He shall preserve them

Lord, You are my Lord
Goodness travels with
You, in Your saints
Sorrow is for other gods
that go not to blood
nor do the angels know them
Lord, You are my portion
My inheritance, my cup

Blessed is the Counselor
dwelling in my heart
and teaching in the night
My glad heart rejoices
and I will not be moved
You give my soul life
and keep me from corruption
into Your pleasures evermore

(Psalm 12 & 16)
