Loving the Lord, why is it not understood for what it really is? I love the Lord and feel His presents everywhere and see Him in people everywhere in His glory. The Lord overwhelms me and it is a good thing. My heart feels Him moving when I am in the presence of another that loves Him. It seems that even the people that teach Jesus do not understand the love that I have written about here.
People say that love is not just a feeling or emotion. Okay, I can agree but love generates feeling and emotions. Love is the real substance of life. The Word of God is love – Jesus was the greatest manifestation of love ever to grace the earth. Salvation is love, “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10). Mercy is love – mercy is God’s grace towards man while man is at enmity with God. Generosity is love and love should be given generously. The real issue is trying to explain the love one has from and for God when Jesus is firmly planted into your heart to someone that doesn’t get it.
It is not that God’s love toward one can increase. God has given everything and put everything into His love for us. What happens is the aptitude to understand love (with a heart that has been healed) gives one a good look at the love God has for us. With Jesus firmly planted into my heart, I know love more completely. The Holy Spirit wakes me in the middle of the night rehearsing the Word of God or singing a praise song. The first thought in the morning is of the greatness of God.
With Jesus I no longer question why God loves me or how He could love someone that made all the mistakes I have made. Seeing the extreme that Jesus was willing to go for me, I know that God is proud of Him and loves Him. With Jesus firmly in my heart, I know God loves me – Jesus has consumed me and it is He that lives – it is He that God loves. Then I realize that God sent Jesus because He loved me first, before Jesus came – to die for me – to dwell in my heart. Now I can see how much God loves me.
My soul feels like jumping from my midst into the Spirit to always be with God. My soul will wait, because I am always with God or should I say God is always with me. Jesus spoke to the Father and said, “The glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me” (John 17:22-23). God has blessed me so that I can see glory in others (Jesus in the hearts of others) and in the creation. It is God answering Jesus’ prayer, “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world” (John 17:24). God conceived us, each and every one, in His mind – God knew and loved us when He conceived us – He is truly our Father.
Isn’t all that stuff still just feel good mush? How does that do anyone any good? JESUS MADE ME RIGHT WITH MY FATHER. My Father is looking at me and seeing all the righteousness of my Brother. God loves me for me and did when I was conceived in His mind before “In the beginning.” When He conceived me I was perfect and all the trash I did is not what He sees when He looks at me. Not at all. God sees the righteousness of Jesus. Read that again starting with “JESUS MADE ME RIGHT” (as many times as you want to) and when you do, don’t picture someone else as me and I – picture yourself when you read me or I. It will do good things.
The Spirit of Jesus is a wonderful beautiful grand living Spirit that fills the heart and heals the heart. The virtues of Jesus purifies the heart and the heart begins filtering the sights, sounds, smells, tastes and feeling (read 2 Peter 1:5-8). Start with faith – faith in what – in the love of God toward us – in Jesus – in God (Father, Son and Spirit) and end up with love. Really you are starting with love. Jesus is God’s love manifested in human form – John states that Jesus is the Word of God (see John 1:1). He also states that God’s love was manifested towards us in the form of Jesus (see 1 John 4:10). “Be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:10-11). With the listing of things from Peter 1:5-8 we see here the conclusion is that the Way (entrance) will be supplied. If you do these thing you will never stumble, but notice that the entrance is supplied and not built with our works. The Way is supplied. Don’t you just love it? Loving the Lord is a gift from God!
