Spine

In mankind there is a spine and if that spine is damaged it can cause issues through out the body. Signals from the brain to the parts of the body travel through the spine and signals from the body to the brain travel through the spine. When the information does not flow correctly from the head to the body, healthy body parts may feel pain, slow down and even stop working. The flow of information between the head of the body of Christ and the body flows through the Holy Spirit. If that flow is inhibited healthy body parts may feel pain, slow down and even stop working.

In the church there are men and women that think they are the spine of the body and want to control the flow of information. These men and women have different titles depending on what doctrines (of men) they adhere to. Anyone that has a leadership position in the church is a servant and should only aid the flow of information between Jesus and the believers they minister to. It is too common a practice for organizations, calling themselves church, to create doctrine that they deem to be an authority. Most of the doctrine is claimed to be gleaned from the Bible and the Bible is said to have final authority.

When Satan fell, he was attempting to overthrow God and claimed that as a creation of God he could have authority over God (Father, Son and Spirit). When you take a creation of God or a creation of man (even if it is inspired by God) and give it final authority, you are claiming that a creation can have authority over the creator. That is from Satan and not from God. A book written by man inspired by God can not have authority over God (Father, Son or Spirit). God is the final authority and the Holy Spirit is God, just as Jesus is God and the Father is God. Exodus twenty verse three reads, “You shall have no other gods before Me.” A book cannot have authority over the Father, Son or Holy Spirit.

It is said that when people choose to leave an organization that is inhibiting the flow of the Holy Spirit that there is an authority problem. The implication is made that the one leaving has the problem with authority. There is truth in the fact that an authority problem exists, but where does the problem really exist? Anyone that has a leadership position in the church is a servant and should only aid the flow of information between Jesus and the believers they minister to. Jesus uses His authority to serve and He is the authority. The Holy Spirit flows to the body parts and delivers a message and returns to the Head with a message.

Each part of the body has functions to perform and strengths and weaknesses based on those functions (we call those gifts and/or talents). The messages from the head activates the body part to perform its function. If the flow of information from the head to the body parts is being inhibited in any way, the body does not function correctly. Anyone that has a calling to ministry cannot become an authority that tries to control the Spiritual life of other members of the body. The gifts are given to assist the body and not to inhibit. The Holy Spirit may give one person a word for another or a group, but the person with the message does not have special authority over the one(s) the message is sent to. Be a servant. Be like Jesus Christ in your service.
