God is Within the Believer

God is within the believer. That is not a line or just something to say when nothing else seems to be enough. God is within and speaks to the believer. The Holy Spirit is God, just as the Father and the Son are God. When the Spirit comes, the Father and the Son also come. God comes to dwell within the believer. Listen to the voice of God and he will speak to you. If you hear Him not, then you are not listening. If you have ear to hear, not an ear of flesh one on each side of your head but the ear of Spirit, be still and listen. On Pentecost, written of in Acts, the people of God spoke in their own language and those listening heard in his or her own native language. It was a miracle of hearing and not only of speaking. Christ’s brethren spoke in their own language with the voice of the Holy Spirit – giving their tongue to the Holy Spirit.

The kingdom of God does not come with observation: nor will they say, “See here!” or ”See there!” For indeed the kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21-22). The blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them (Luke 7:22). Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, “I am He” and “the time drawn near. (Luke 21:8).” Pay them no attention for it is written, “Unless you are converted and become as a little child, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matt 18:3). Take heed that you do not despise one of the these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. For the Son of man has come to save that which was lost (Matt 18:10-11).

Are we not heirs to the promise God gave to Abram (Genesis 12:1-30)? God said to Abram, “In you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” It was in the seed of Abraham that the Holy Spirit placed the Lord Jesus. If we are truly the body of Christ, we are heirs of Abraham and the promise of God, “I will bless those that bless you and curse those that curse you.” Jesus said, “Blessed is he who is not offended by Me” (Luke 7:23). When we speak the words of God, given to us by The Holy Spirit, those that are offended by Jesus will curse us and, because the promise of God is true, they will be cursing themselves. Praise God! Those that are not offended by Jesus will bless us and be blessed by God. Let us not glory in the blessing, but pass it to God from whom all good things come. Let us not boast of the cursed, but let us pray for them.

An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For Jonah was three days and three night in the belly of a great fish, so will the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth (Matt 12:40). These people draw near Me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrine the commandments of men” (Matt 15:7-8). When they teach that Jesus was in the earth Friday evening until Sunday morning (one day and two nights), is it truth or the doctrine of man? Be not afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do (Luke 12:4). Whoever confesses me before men, him the Son of man will confess before the angels of God (Luke 12:8).

Let the voice of God be in your heart and on your tongue. Listen to the Holy Spirit and do as He has given to you. Speak to others concerning the voice of God and speak to others as the Spirit gives you words. Do not be shy to say God and Jesus and Christ or to talk about the Holy Spirit. Do not deny the Spirit that Jesus sent from the Father to teach and to give comfort. God is not a passing fad that will bring you joy until the next fad comes along. Serving God is not finding joy in the next hidden prayer someone finds in the scripture, but praying to God from your heart and listening to the Holy Spirit. Jesus has come and the promise of God is truth. Jesus has sent to us the promised Holy Spirit. Jesus was called “God among us.” The Holy Spirit brings Jesus back among us. The Holy Spirit is God within us. Do not be ashamed of God. It is not the flesh that speaks truth or gives understanding. Pray to God and listen for the Holy Spirit to speak. Go out into all the world and open your mouth and the Holy Spirit will speak.
