Flesh or Spirit

In preparing a meal an abundance of meat and vegetables were used, but very little salt. Jesus said that we, the believers, are the “salt of the earth.” Why do we continue to seek the body of Christ in large organizations and in large numbers? Salt is not reserved for just meat or only one meal. The Church of God is not in one house, temple or organization. The Church of God is the believer and the temple that is being prepared is a gathering of believers under Christ Jesus. The reward may not be a whisking away to another place. The reward of the believer is to be with Christ Jesus in the Kingdom of God. In Revelation it is written, “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me.”

Jesus said, “I thank you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden theses things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.” Paul wrote to the Corinthians, “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise.” Why are we looking for the wise of the world to lead the Church? Why do we turn to educated man that say there are no more prophets and that the Holy Spirit was only for the first generation of Christians? Why do we listen to the men that worship a book instead of the King of kings? They worship the book, because it gives them doctrine they can use to enslave those seeking God, instead of serving Christ Jesus that gives the freedom to all mankind to be with God.

Jesus came to this earth for the salvation of all of mankind. The difference is that the believer accepts that statement as fact. John wrote that Jesus said, “I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word.” That is why some say that we are taught only though the writings of those Jesus ministered to on this earth. They give Paul special dispensation because Jesus appeared to Paul, while his name was Saul. John continued to write “…that they may all be one, as You Father, are in Me, and I in you; they may also be one in Us.” All to be one, those that Jesus ministered to and those that believe through their words all one, in the Father and Son. John also recorded Jesus’ words speaking of the Holy Spirit, “He will glorify Me, for He will take what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.” Joel prophesied that at the end of this age God would pour out the Holy Spirit on the earth.

It may sound contradictory to say both, that the Church is not one building or organization and that we are one in the Father and Son. But a building or organization is flesh and we are one in the Spirit. God is Spirit and it is in the Spirit that we will know Him. The Holy Spirit, that does not speak His own words but what He hears, teaches Jesus to the believer. Jesus is the Word of God and the Word of God teaches us through the Holy Spirit. We may be introduced through the scriptures, but understanding is from God. The Holy Spirit is our constant companion, comforter and teacher. The Church is the Body of Christ. The believer is the Church; the Church is not a building or organization. A building or organization is not the Body of Christ. It is the believer that introduces those not searching the scriptures to the Word, that is Jesus. Do not wait for someone to come into a building or to your organization before you introduce her or him to Jesus.

Jesus comes quickly and He brings with Him the reward of the believer. The reward is life on earth ruled by the King of kings. Earth is part of the Kingdom of God and Jesus is returning to establish His Kingdom. The believer is being called into the clouds to return with Christ Jesus. It is written that some, those that come through the time of tribulation, will be before the throne of God forever. It is true that we do not know the wonders that God has in store for the believer in the Kingdom. It is the reward of all true believers to dwell in heaven, but heaven is coming to this earth. So, no mater where we dwell, it will be heaven. The Church is not one body in flesh, but in the Spirit we are the Body of Christ. Jesus comes quickly to the believer in the Holy Spirit. One moment He is not and another moment He is. Jesus comes quickly to establish the Kingdom of God on this earth.
