Consider the Lily

Why do you ask of me to
honor my mother.
While you are condemning
her, the church, for
righteousness in the Lord.
Consider the lily
in the field so grand.
How much we know,
how little we understand.

Why do you ask of me to
honor my Father,
while you make void the Son
we led to slaughter
with self-righteous law.
Consider the lily
in the field so grand.
How much we know,
how little we understand.

When on bended knee
we praise and worship,
but curse the believer
or unbeliever in our path
that is not where we are.
Consider the lily
in the field so grand.
How much we know,
how little we understand.

God has called me
and to the place where
I am fed and share.
When He called I honored
Him by saying, “surely.”
Consider the lily
in the field so grand.
How much we know,
how little we understand.
