What would I have done,
If it had been me they called Pilate?
Would I have washed my hands,
And watched them lead Him away?
What would I have done being that one?

What would I have done,
If I had been the one called Judas?
Would I have taken silver for a kiss?
And watched them lead Him away?
What would I have done being that one?

What would I have done,
If I have been among the High Priests?
Would I have found blame in the innocent,
And watched them lead Him away?
What would I have done being that one?

What would I have done,
If it had been me born of God?
Would I have forgiven the ones
Watching as they lead me away?
What would I have done being that One?

God in His glory and grace
Sent me at this time, to this place
And each of them in their season,
The leaders to wash their hands
And find blame where there was none,
And one to betray our Lord, God’s Son.
For what reason is this time for this one?
