My Walk and My Way

Lord, I need You more every day
The young man I was has turned gray
These legs cannot carry me as far
As I have already gone
When the road is long and night has come
Fog moves into and takes my mind

There was a time when even time stood still
Waited for me to walk the miles
I needed to go before I slept
Now time has gone out of style
Where hours pass me by like seconds
And the days go on without end

Lord, I need You every minute
Whatever time I have left on earth
I need You and Your Spirit in it
Your love replaces my clock
The rhythmic beating of Your heart
Turns seconds into life’s breath

Lord, I need you every moment
Like I needed You to imagine me
To speak me into reality
To form me from miry clay
To breath me into existence
To be my walk and my Way
