He patiently wove a whip of cords
Overturned the tables of the money changers
Drove out those doing business
In His Father’s house of prayer
Sometimes it takes a Lamb
Sometimes it takes a Lion
To help us understand
And settle our hearts down
He came as the Son of man
He who is the Son of God
Because, sometimes it takes a Lion
Sometimes it takes a Lamb
We are the temple where the glory dwells
The house of God created by His own hands
He came not to call the just
But us all into His presence
In the created Holy of Holies
In the unveiled heart ripped from top to bottom
Where we are all in need of a savior
Being His Father’s house of prayer
Sometimes it takes a Lamb
Sometimes it takes a Lion
To have compassion on us
Or try us in the furnace
He came as the Son of man
He who is the Son of God
Because, sometimes it takes a Lion
Sometimes it takes a Lamb
