Walked into a place
With a cross on the roof
And another sinner
Throwing stones from the pulpit
People just sitting there
Watching without a care
As long as the rocks
Landed on someone else

Shouting, “Amen” again
“Preacher do it some more
Teach on the armor
To protect us from the darts
You aimlessly throw
When the stones run low”
Then someone read a verse
And sang Amazing Grace

As I turned to leave
Saw the sign above the door
Reading, “Go out to serve”
Another sign just outside
“No one ever leaves the same”
If you came with hope
Or love for one another
Please leave it at the altar
