There is something about the other side of nowhere
Keeps calling out to me like it is my tomorrow
Or maybe part of my wandering left in yesterday
Still it keeps me from being where I am today
Like this is someplace where I know I cannot stay
Everybody tells me a man can never be an island
Standing in the sea trying to survive on his own
Even the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost aren’t enough
You have to commune with the people along the way
Or so they say, the same they who turn their face away
Nobody said being a neighbor would be all that easy
All somebody said was, love your neighbor anyway
Maybe that’s the call of the other side of nowhere
But the odds are when I get where I think it is
I’ll look around and find I am already there today
It has been written, “Love your enemy to be like Me”
The more I live this life the more I see it is the same
To say, love your neighbor even if you don’t understand them
And continue to love them even if they don’t understand you
So I am hanging up on the other side of nowhere, and staying here
