Always understanding, always understanding
The Lord my God, is always understanding
He will not turn you away because
You do not know the right words to call
The building where you come to meet
Nor because you do not know the way
To pronounce the names of the prophets
Not once will He turn your prayer away
Because of the room you where in
Nor the way you dressed or wore your hair
Not once will He keep from you night or day
Because of the house where you live

Always understanding, always understanding
The Lord my God, is always understanding
He will see into your heart of hearts
He will know why you seek to find
And what you need to be healed
He who has power to change winter to spring
Can melt the ice from around the soul
To you that man rejects, it will be revealed
He is no respecter of persons, but of all
Even while we lack understanding, we seek
But, not to the ways of this world is our quest
But to the peaceful quiet of the Lord’s rest

Always understanding, always understanding
The Lord my God, is always understanding
Do not offend the little ones, because they
Have not wasted their heart to learn
The things that are thought important
By those that error in their keeping
Of the traps that this earth lays to bind
The very heart and soul of those once seeking
To find robes and chalices is not our journey
But to understand the One that wore the robe
And the spirit of the wine in the chalice
Break bread and seek Its understanding
