“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things” (Romans 8:32)? God is giving and was so from the beginning. “And God said, ‘See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food’” (Genesis 1:29). When His only begotten Son came to the world, God did not show Him to be favored, but gave Him to us for a sacrifice. Those of us in ministry must be willing to do the same. “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple” (Luke 14:26). “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment” (James 3:1).
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23-25). Our inheritance is not from man, but from the Lord. Our duty is to all of God’s children and not just to the ones that He has given to us from our own flesh. Our duty is even to those that do evil. “But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil” (Luke 6:35). We cannot be prejudice towards our own seed, to promote them only. The inheritance of our children is not from us, but from God. If we are called to minister, we must serve all without prejudice. It is not easy in the flesh, but it is our calling in the spirit.
Are we willing to let our child make a sacrifice so that another can be saved? Are we willing to let our own seed get their inheritance from God, or do we feel a need to take an inheritance for them from among men? Can we trust God for our child, as Abraham did with Isaac? Can we see all of God’s children as our children, without prejudice for the ones born from our flesh? “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment” (James 3:1). “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things” (Romans 8:32)?
“It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones” (Luke 17:2). “And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me’” (Matthew 25:40). Do we need to read it more clearly? “No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us” (1 John 4:12). All of God’s children are the one another, and if there be any others they are the enemy we love.
